When I walked into this screening at the Berlin Film Festival this year, I had no idea who Jane Jacobs was and why she's become a legend in the world of architecture and urban planning. This story tells of the fight Jacobs led against the ruthless redevelopment of New York in the 1960s by "master-builder" Robert Moses, and of Jacobs' belief that cities are about people rather than high-rise buildings and expressways.
