Skate in the City returns to Canberra

Construction has begun on the outdoor ice rink in Garema Place for this year's Skate in the City. With the rink to open on Friday, Canberra CBD Limited chief executive Jane Easthope is encouraging traders to again become involved in the event. "Skate in the City saw record-breaking numbers, with close to 20,000 skaters hitting the ice and contributing $1.5 million to local businesses," she said. Skate in the City is funded by building owners to promote the city centre as the vibrant heart of Canberra.
