An ACT Emergency Services Agency spokesman said they had received several calls from people in the area concerned about the smoke.

He said the high school was completing the prescribed controlled burn of reeds, which was expected to result in smoke rising from the area until about 9am.
By 9.50am the burn had been completed, although he said residents in the area may see some residual smoke for a short time.
