The boy was on a school excursion to the Swinging Bridge park area when he was bitten by an unidentified type of snake.
The boy was bitten by an unidentified type of snake near the Swinging Bridge park area.
He was picked up and taken to hospital by the Snowy Hydro Southcare rescue helicopter.
It is the helicopter's first snake bite retrieval of the season.
