Parts of Constitution Avenue in Civic were blocked off and a building evacuated as the bomb squad investigated a suspicious package at a government department that turned out to be a mislabelled box.

Police were contacted at about 1pm after the incorrectly labelled box was discovered at the Department of Climate Change and Energy Efficiency.
The building was evacuated of about 100 people as a precaution and the bomb squad called in to investigate.
However, on analysing the box, the bomb squad confirmed it contained nothing more than CDs. The package was determined to be safe, and the occupants of the building have since been allowed to return.
Fire crews, police and a hazmat unit also responded to the call, blocking off the section of Constitution Avenue in front of the building while the package was investigated.
