Shock!!! Horror!!! Exclamation marks, some of my favourite things (how I love them!!!) are ruthlessly criticised in a lively newAtlantic essay Read This Article!!! In her zesty piece, Julie Beck diagnoses that we are seeing an epidemic of exclamation marks in written English. She deplores it.
