Three Sixty Fashion Markets, the markets focused on all things recycled, up-cycled and repurposed, are turning the ripe old age of one on November 21.

To celebrate, they're taking what's usually in the stalls and putting it on the runway, with an evening fashion show.
"It's always been something we have discussed," said market co-founder Mel O'Brien.
"It's also about connecting the market sellers with their customers in a diversified way. Market sellers are constantly bombarded with questions of where would I wear this, how would I wear this, I don't have anything to wear that to and this will give our designers and collectors the opportunity to show people how and where they could wear their collections.
The night will kick off with collections from six local designers – Pure Pod, Sovata, Dissonance, Hanny-D, Audrey Blue and Mary Burns.
After an interval with canapes and local wines, there will be a preview of Canberra film Edge of Light, and then a vintage showcase.
"We want to inspire people. If they see it on the catwalk, they can achieve that look," said co-founder Nathan Harris.
The evening will be followed by the regular Three Sixty Fashion Markets the next day, where most of what hit the catwalk will be available for sale.
The event earned Mel and Nathan a win at the recent Keep Australian Beautiful ACT Sustainable Cities Awards at Government House. They were awarded the Dame Phyllis Frost Award for litter prevention, resource recovery and waste management.
"We received a nomination and we were invited to attend Government House and we got all dressed up – we were a little bit giddy, eating sandwiches, drinking cups of tea. But we sat down and I said to Nathan 'it doesn't matter we're already winners'. And then our name was called out," said Mel.
"We didn't expect to win – we thought it was flattering just to be nominated," said Nathan.
For the award ceremony, Mel dressed in local designers that will soon be strutting their catwalk – a dress by Dissonance and hat by Sovata.
The Three Sixty Fashion Market show, "Taking Flight – The Runway", is on Saturday November 21 from 6pm at the Fitters Workshop, Kingston. Tickets starts from $25, which includes canapes and drinks, from threesixtyfm.com.
