Meet Dominic Oliver Massey, born at 12.19pm on Monday at Canberra's Calvary Hospital and weighing in at seven pounds and 11 ounces.
Parents Danial and Kara Massey welcomed Dominic 2½ weeks early and said brother Isaac, 2, was excited at the arrival of his younger sibling.
''Isaac is a bit wary at the moment because it's all new for him but I think he's enjoying himself,'' Ms Massey said. ''It was a very straightforward birth and I have been really well looked after by everyone here at the hospital.''
Surrounded by excited relatives and lots of flowers, Ms Massey said she was relieved and excited. ''The second time around I knew what the pain was going to be and that it was a positive experience after a short period of time,'' she said.
Enjoying their own modest population boom, the Crace family said they were looking forward to taking baby Dominic home this week, as the Australian Bureau of Statistics' population clock ticks over to 23 million about 10.15pm on Tuesday.
ABS data shows that 5121 babies were born in the ACT in 2011.
