ACT police are investigating a fire which destroyed a unit in Waramanga overnight.

Fire crews were called to the unit on Waramanga Place just before 1am on Thursday morning.
The sole female occupant had safely left the building by the time fire crews arrived and was uninjured.
Fire crews contained the fire to the two storey unit although adjoining apartments were smoke damaged.
Damage to the destroyed unit has been estimated between $300,000 and $500,000.
The cause of the fire is currently unknown and is being investigated by fire fighters and police.
A spokeswoman for the ESA said a few people living next door to the fire had been evacuated and relocated overnight, although none were injured.
