We need a tough integrity body, not a soft one

The corruption commission cause had mixed fortunes during the week. The ACT adopted legislation for an ACT Anti-Corruption and Integrity Commission – to be known as ACAC, to distinguish from the rather stronger NSW ICAC. It is no fault of the ACT government or legislators that AFP officers focused on providing, at cost, the ACT with state-style policing will not be covered by ACAC, at least for the moment.
