While its focus is still on the Parliamentary Triangle, two new precincts have been added this year: the Australian National University and Canberra City. The National Arboretum and National Zoo and Aquarium are also hosting events.
The festival is from March 2 to 18, heralding in Canberra's arguably most glorious season, autumn.
The Enlighten illuminations, including the stunning projects on to the walls of Old Parliament House and the like, run from March 2 to 11.
And Enlighten would not be the same without some otherworldly, dream-like elements lighting up the darkness.
What Lies Beneath - "ethereal divers from another place and time" - will be roving the Parliamentary Triangle from 7pm to 10.30pm on March 9 and 10.
The Sleep Keepers will be encouraging people on to their bed of dreams in the Parliamentary Triangle from 7pm to 10.30pm on March 2 and 3. (No hanky panky though, as it's dangerously close to Parliament House.)
And Metamorphosis, an installation landscape of giant, glowing, musical cocoons, will be on display in the Parliamentary Triangle from March 2 to 11.
Enlighten also encompasses the Canberra Balloon Spectacular on the lawns of Old Parliament House from March 10 to 18.
The Night Noodle Markets return to Reconciliation Place from March 2-11, weekdays from 5pm and weekends from 4pm.
The City Renewal Authority is teaming up with Enlighten this year, including putting fairy lights around the city. Follow @CityRenewalCanberra on social media to discover where the city lights will pop up during the festival.
The ANU campus will feature vibrant projections, fire-side chats and a special Saturday night market.
