About 1000 kilograms of LEGO is going on sale at the The Green Shed at Mugga Lane tip on Saturday. About 40 per cent of the LEGO for sale has come from the tip or been donated, and a whopping 60 per cent is from the personal collection of Charlie Bigg-Wither, he of the famous Lego House in Turner. LEGO will be sold for $30 a kilo, first in, first served, although some restrictions will apply. The sale is on from 9am-2pm.
2. MOVIES UNDER THE STARS
Canberra's Openair Cinemas at the Patrick White Lawns are in full swing, and this weekend there's a whole program of flicks for the kids. You can see Wonder (PG) Friday night, Paddington 2 (G) Saturday night or Ferdinand (G) Sunday night. Gates open at 6pm and the film starts when the sun goes down. 3. SNAKES ALIVE
Most of us do everything we can to avoid them, but if reptiles and amphibians are your thing, you can get up close and personal with some at the Botanic Gardens' Snakes Alive. 4. HEATH LEDGER DOUBLE HEADER
A decade after his death, the National Film and Sound Archive's Arc Cinema will play a Heath Ledger double feature this Sunday. His 90s' indie thriller Two Hands is on at 2pm, followed by I Am Heath Ledger, a documentary where friends and family give an intimate look at his personal life and career. 5. FREE FAMILY DAYS OUT
Running out of things to entertain the family with these school holidays? Summer activation week is on in Queanbeyan, with two free family days this weekend. 7. ALICE IN WONDERLAND
