New data from Airbnb has unveiled Canberra's most "wished for" Airbnb properties, and while the top 10 list is packed with its fair share of Civic and Braddon studio apartments, the top three properties are all in Canberra's north.
The number one "wished for" property in the capital is this two-storey gem in Gungahlin, which boasts a walk-in pantry, easy access to public transport and not one but two balconies overlooking the tranquil waters of Yerrabi Pond.
Photos of the house show a lounge room with a plaid lounge and wooden rails - think 1980s sitcoms Married With Children and Roseanne - and a beautifully-furnished open plan dining and kitchen area upstairs.
The one feature this home has above others, according to Airbnb, is "a hot tub", otherwise known as a standard size bath with jets. But its popularity most likely lies in the fact it sleeps eight people, one of only 20 Airbnb properties in the ACT to do so.
Meanwhile, this recently-refurbished two bedroom unit in Hawker is another favourite with visitors, despite host Kim admitting how ugly the outside of the building is. The property has receieved 142 reviews, mostly five stars across cleanliness and a great check-in experience.
Also hugely popular with domestic and interstate travellers is this Airbnb in Watson, which sleeps five. The house has been viewed more than 100 times this week, mostly because of the excellent work host Sabina has put into making her listing look like the VisitCanberra website.
It's not surprising this garden retreat out the back of Greg's mid-century red brick home in Griffith gets a lot of clicks. With a gorgeous pool, the most modern of bathrooms and a sun-drenched yard, it's the kind of place that makes me want to leave the hubby and kids in Queanbeyan for the night to drink a bottle of Tempus Two rose and borrow a lot of Greg's Wifi.
The Airbnb data reveals Canberra Airbnb hosts are primarily female (61 per cent), aged 44.
