Will he be going the full Lonsdale-Street-hipster look and letting his beard grow mid-chest while getting kale stuck in his whiskers? Is he just winding down for the holidays?

Beards and politics don't usually go together. You'd have to cast your mind back to the early 20th century and Billy Hughes to find a prime minister with a bit of facial hair.
The ACT, always progressive, did have a bearded chief minister before, in the Liberals' Gary Humphries [2000-2001].
So sources tell us Barr will not be turning his five o'clock shadow into something worthy of Ned Kelly but the designer stubble will me staying, for now.
