ACT Emergency Services were called to the electrical threat at 1.26pm on Wednesday. The road reopened by 2.15pm.
ACT Firefighters arrived to find the circuitry on a power pole had blown up as a result of overloading, an Emergency Services Agency spokesman said
Ten commercial customers in the Wollongong Street area lost power as a result of the incident.
Technicians were working to restore power to the users before 5pm on Thursday, an ActewAGL spokesman said
