The boy from Melbourne Russell Mulcahy - now 64 - has done so much in his career.
Shot music videos for the likes of The Sex Pistols, The Rolling Stones, Duran Duran, Queen, Culture Club, Elton John and Human League.
Directed the so-bad-it's-good Aussie shocker Razorback in 1984, about a wild boar terrorising the outback.
In 1986, he directed the cult classic film Highlander, starring Christopher Lambert and Sean Connery.
Mulcahy also directed the TV series Queer as Folk and Teen Wolf.
On Wednesday, February 7, National Film and Sound Archive curators will discuss Mulcahy's work in a free public event.
They will share highlights from the videos he made.
They include classics such as The Vapors' Turning Japanese, Ultravox's Vienna, Gypsy by Fleetwood Mac, Duran Duran's Hungry Like the Wolf and that all-time, over-the-top pull-at-the-heartstrings Total Eclipse of the Heart by Bonnie Tyler.
That will be followed by a 7.30pm screening of Highlander. Mulcahy won't be at the event, however.
Wednesday February, 7, 7pm at Arc cinema, NFSA, Acton. Tickets: free, book online
