They are the unsung heroes of our newsroom, and chances are you've had your photo taken by one of them in the past year.
They don't like to boast about their work, but as 2017 draws to a close, we've asked them to do to just that and highlight their favourite photos of the year. Follow The Canberra Times on Instagram to stay up to date with all our photographers' best shots.
Here are Dion Georgopoulos' most memorable for the year.
"Upon meeting Dr David Coles at his farm in Carwoola, he was outside working late on a cloudy afternoon. He invited us into his quaint home, we sat down and I started to set up my gear to take a portrait.
"David talked about the Carwoola fire and how it would have destroyed his home if he and his wife had not stayed to defend the property.
"I decided we should go outside and tour the property which still bore the scars of the fire even months later.
"There was one spot on the farm just meters from the house where the ground was black. It was here David and his wife saved their home. At that moment I knew I had to shoot another portrait, not just of a doctor but of a farmer as well."
