Learning the language of flowers

Flowers definitely mean sex, if not love and passion - though not necessarily for humans. Our most flagrant flowers evolved to be pollinated by other creatures, insects or birds, or sometimes us. But any flower is a worthy way of saying ‘I love you’ on St Valentine’s day - unless the person you give them to is allergic to grevilleas and comes up in a rash, or gets a bad case of asthma, sinus, hay fever or hives from any flower scent, or was traumatised by a carnation at age seven.
