Emergency services were called to a unit on Joubert Street, Hunters Hill just before 7pm.

Upon arrival paramedics treated a 27-year-old man for stab wound and lacerations to his upper torso, arms and legs.

He was taken to Royal North Shore Hospital where it is expected he will undergo surgery.

A crime scene was established, and police are urging anyone with information to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
