Michaela Vodvarka was walking her parents' dog Zeus, a boerboel-great dane cross, at Mount Jerrabomberra on July 19 when the duo came across the boar.

Ms Vodvarka needed stitches in both legs after she was bitten by the pig while trying to protect the dog from being attacked.

A Queanbeyan City Council spokeswoman said a contractor had been searching for the one-eyed boar since July.

Cameras and traps had been placed on the mountain, which is a popular recreation spot for Jerrabomberra and Queanbeyan residents.

The pig was found in a cage on Sunday and euthanised.

While Ms Vodvarka was relieved the animal had been caught, she feared the pig's appearance and behaviour was the result of hunting.

At the time of the attack she described fighting off the boar as "like something out of a horror film".

"I'm so happy they've caught it. I'm really very pleased they've been able to catch it and deal with it appropriately," she said.

"If it were kids or anything, who knows...a lot of people walk up there.

Ms Vodvarka, who previously described the pig as weighing about 60 to 70 kilograms and missing both ears and one eye, said she was recovering well.

The leg wounds she sustained in the attack required 10 stitches.

"I've had the stitches out - [the wounds are] healing but still scabbed over," she said.

"There's some pretty nasty scars."

Meanwhile, her parents' dog, Zeus, was fine.

"My parents are back and still taking him up there," she said.

Ms Vodvarka thanked the council for pursuing the pig and warned other walkers to be careful.

The council spokeswoman said residents should keep dogs on their leashes at Mount Jerrabomberra.

She urged residents to contact the council if they spotted a feral pig.
