What next for Syrian crisis?

In Syria, the Assad regime is in deep trouble, but its demise may not come soon enough for a majority of the Syrian people. Not only has the regime still considerable human and military assets at its disposal, but also the Syrian conflict is deeply entangled with wider regional and international geopolitical complexities. This does not augur well for an early end to the crisis.
