The average price of petrol across Brisbane service stations is on-track to rise to almost 150¢ per litre, if the current round of price hikes continues during the coming days, the RACQ warns.

A three-year record could also be broken, with the average price at the pumps tipped to reach 149.5¢ per litre, which would smash the usual Brisbane average of 130¢ per litre.
RACQ spokeswoman Renee Smith said 25 per cent of Brisbane servos have put their prices up during the past few days as we approach the expensive phase of the price cycle.
In addition, Ms Smith said 17 per cent had decided to increase the price to 151.9¢ per litre, which she said was simply "a joke".
"Brisbane motorists are used to a sharp rise, but 151.9¢ is just unjustifiable," she said.
Ms Smith encouraged drivers to fill up straight away if they see any fuel available for about 130¢ per litre and warned them not to hesitate because it was a case of "blink and you miss it".
Fuel comparison site MotorMouth showed Brisbane was filled with red dots - which represented service stations with fuel prices above 134¢ per litre.
However, northside suburbs including The Gap, Mitchelton, Brendale and Warner as well as the southside suburbs of River Hills, Wishart, Wynnum and Cleveland had kept their average prices below 130¢ per litre, according to MotorMouth.
Ms Smith said the cause of the potentially record-breaking fuel price hike was the lack of competition and comparison services available in Queensland.
"We are calling on the state government to introduce access to real-time fuel data or an app with live service station prices," she said.
"New South Wales has it, but the Queensland government says it is a 'federal issue'. We need to help drive competition in the Brisbane market."
Ms Smith said she couldn't see prices entering the cheap phase again for a couple of weeks, with the days of weekly cycles and cheap Tuesday "well behind us".
