The former Newcastle Knights centre will travel with the Raiders when they fly out on Wednesday after he joined the club last week.

Leilua gained an early release from his contract with the Knights on the condition he won't be available to take on his old side in a fortnight.

Raiders coach Ricky Stuart has resisted making any changes to the side which lost 21-20 to the North Queensland Cowboys last Saturday.

Leilua could still come into the Raiders side at the last minute, but the difficult part is finding a spot for him in the backline.

His inclusion at right centre would push Sisa Waqa on to the wing, which would force either Edrick Lee or Jordan Rapana out of the side.

Both Lee and Rapana could consider themselves to be stiff to miss out after their performances in recent weeks.

There's also the question whether it is worthwhile bringing Leilua into the side this weekend given he would have to sit out the round 18 game against the Knights at Canberra Stadium on July 10.

The Raiders have the bye next weekend.

Leilua's addition adds another big body to the Raiders backline.

He would also form a formidable combination on the right edge alongside former Kangaroos and Queensland second-rower Josh Papalii.

Speaking on Tuesday morning before the Raiders team was named, Papalii said he was looking forward to capitalising on Leilua's size and strength.

"I guess I'll be hanging off Joey Leilua for another try," Papalii said.

"He definitley brings a lot of size, he knows what to expect and what to do.

"He's played in a grand final before and he's got a lot of experience for a young fella."

Leilua played in the 2010 grand final with the Sydney Roosters when they lost 32-8 to the St George Illawarra Dragons.

He was 19th man for the NSW State of Origin team in 2012 before joining the Knights in 2013.

Leilua has played eight Tests for Samoa and put together several strong performances during last year's Four Nations tournament.

However, he was frustrated when Knights coach Rick Stone suggested he could be overlooked for the start of the season.

Leilua has signed with the Raiders for the rest of this season, but negotiations are continuing to extend the deal beyond this year.

The Raiders are hoping to turn the tables on the Warriors after an 18-6 loss in round two.

"The Warriors came out firing and we didn't step up to the level that we can play," Papalii said.

"They play a similar game to us and we have a big forward pack as well.

"Their backs are pretty big as well. I guess we'll just be playing ourselves on Saturday."

The Warriors have made two changes to the side which beat the Titans.

Utility Tuimoala Lolohea replaces winger Ken Maumalo, while prop Albert Vete comes in for Sebastine Ikahihifo.
