Wighton will appear in the ACT Magistrates Court on Wednesday, just days after the birth of his second child, with charges expected to range from affray to assault.

There's been speculation Wighton could be stood down for the remainder of the season and the Raiders will have to decide on Tuesday whether to name him in the team to face the Parramatta Eels at Canberra Stadium on Saturday night.

He missed the Raiders 26-10 victory over the Canterbury Bulldogs at Canberra Stadium on Thursday night, but that was due to the birth of his second daughter.

Young gun Nick Cotric filled in brilliantly for Wighton at fullback.

The Raiders have a history of taking strong stands against off-field behaviour, having previously sacked Todd Carney, Josh Dugan, Blake Ferguson and Joel Monaghan.

The 25-year-old's alleged role in the incidents are not yet known, however, it is understood at least three people were assaulted in the melee which occurred outside the Academy nightclub.

It's believed ACT Policing have examined CCTV footage of the alleged incidents.

In February, a police press release called for witnesses to a series of violent incidents in Civic on the morning of February 3.

The police statement said officers received reports of three assaults between 2.45am and 3am near Bible Lane.

Police then attended a disturbance involving a group of people about 3.10am at the intersection of Mort and Bunda streets.

It's believed he was out celebrating his birthday with friends.

The NRL was satisfied the Raiders notified the NRL integrity unit as soon as they knew of the alleged incidents.

NRL chief executive Todd Greenberg met with the Raiders board before the Bulldogs game, but it's believed Wighton wasn't discussed.

It's also believed the Raiders were looking at Melbourne Storm fullback Scott Drinkwater as potential cover for Wighton.

Meanwhile, Raiders five-eighth Blake Austin appears to have earned an NRL reprieve after he was pulled from the Mounties side that lost to the Penrith Panthers in the NSW Cup on Saturday.

He looks set to return the Canberra team to partner Aidan Sezer in the halves against Parramatta after halfback Sam Williams was ruled out for 4-6 weeks due to a medial ligament strain.

Raiders centre Joey Leilua was "proud" of Sezer's efforts to guide the Green Machine to their first win of the season against the Canterbury Bulldogs on Thursday night.

Leilua said when Sezer was on-song, then the entire team fed off him.

The star centre also said the go forward a rolling Raiders pack can provide allowed the outside backs to do their job as well.

Both him and Rapana have been the most potent edge pairing in the NRL for the last two years.

They earned themselves the nickname "Leipana" in 2016 when both were virtually unstoppable.

Rapana has been the Raiders' leading try scorer the last two seasons, bagging 21 tries in 2017 and 20 the year before.

Both those seasons Leilua scored 10 himself, but this season there's been a bit of a role reversal in the opening five rounds.

Leilua has bagged three tries, while Rapana's got just the one.

"It's Jordan now setting me up - usually it's the other way around," Leilua said.

"We played well, but as I said if our forwards don't play well it's hard for us, me and Jordan, to get in there and do what we do."

Leilua said when the Raiders forwards played with the intent they showed against Canterbury there wasn't an NRL team that could hold them.

He said the Raiders forwards would again be the key for the Green Machine against the Eels.

Junior Paulo, Shannon Boyd, Dunamis Lui, Luke Bateman, Sia Soliola and Joe Tapine were all immense in Canberra's first win of the NRL season.

"We were embarrassed last week, we didn't put any kind of effort in our game last weekend," Leilua said.

"The boys knew that and decided to change it [against the Bulldogs] and it started from our forward pack.

"They showed what they're capable of and if they do that every week there's no team that can hold us.

"If our forwards go well, the whole team goes well - it comes down to that."
