Dane Tilse completed the majority of yesterday's training session in a positive sign he has made an earlier than expected recovery from rib cartilage damage. Tilse was expected to miss a month after picking up the injury in the round two victory against the Gold Coast Titans.
But the Raiders could badly do with his powerful runs up the middle if, as expected, Shillington fails in his bid to take his place in the team with an oblique strain.
Shillington hasn't trained since Monday night's 30-16 win against the Wests Tigers but will test the injury out tomorrow.
''Furnsey's given me an opportunity to recover,'' Shillington said.
''No training since Monday night and I'll have a go Sunday and see how I go.
''I'd say I'm unlikely to play, but at least I'll be in good stead for the following week.''
A decision on Tilse will be made tomorrow, with the Raiders likely to err on the side of caution.
''I still haven't done full contact or anything, so still up in the air for Monday night,'' Tilse said.
''Just going to have to wait and see and probably make a decision on Sunday.
''Obviously the game's a bit different to a training session so probably check it tomorrow.''
