The Brumbies will unveil a more traditional playing strip on Friday just 12 months after the club tested the waters of a new direction.
The jersey will return to a similar design to the one used in most of the Brumbies' 21 years in Super Rugby, with the white torso making a comeback and gold stripes across the players' chests.
The Brumbies were met with resistance last year when their new all-blue look divided opinion as the club tried to attract a younger audience.
The move didn't last long, with the Brumbies desperate to re-engage with Canberra's rugby community after a year of off-field turmoil.
New chief executive Michael Thomson started his tenure on Monday and is already working on a short list of coaching candidates to replace Stephen Larkham as well as sifting through applications for the general manager of high performance role.
Thomson is also confident the Brumbies are on the verge of finalising deals to keep some of their off-contract stars in the capital beyond the end of the year.
"It's been a pretty frantic couple of days but it has just reaffirmed the opportunities in the organisation, but there is also a need for us to re-engage with Canberra," Thomson said.
"It's been interesting with the whole look, we've got a lot of young guys coming through and there's a feeling like there's been a line in the sand and we need to start going forward again.
"I'm a Canberra local as well. It feels like there are a whole lot of things that are starting to get back to our roots and there's a keenness at player level and admin level about how we can get in the community.
"It just feels like we're getting back to what the Brumbies were. I'm certainly hoping that people see and understand that we're recognising our past and we're getting excited about the future.
"I don't think we can look back too far because we have to move forward as an organisation. The opportunity is there for people to reconnect with us, and if the jersey helps that's a great result."
The Brumbies have between 5000-6000 paid members signed up for the season but the club is hoping that number will swell in the coming weeks as the season gets closer.
The Brumbies play their first pre-season match against an Australian Barbarians side at Viking Park on Saturday afternoon before a clash against the NSW Waratahs in Mudgee next weekend.
Larkham, who is in his final year as the club's coach, is set to name a 30-man squad for the clash against the Barbarians to test depth.
Thomson has his hands full sinking his teeth into back-room operations, with membership numbers, player contracts and staff appointments at the top of the list.
The Brumbies have more than 20 players who will be off contract at the end of the 2017 season and Thomson has already worked with Larkham to all but finalise several deals.
"We need to drive membership ... we're tracking OK but we need to push hard getting closer to the season," Thomson said.
"Stephen and I are doing quite a bit of work with the squad and retention, and that's coming along quite nicely. Then there's the general manager of high performance position as well."
The Brumbies will have their annual general meeting in February, with the club's board expected to announce another significant financial loss for the past 12 months.
