Brumbies coach Stephen Larkham says his team must eradicate simple and "pretty ordinary" errors from its game to ensure they stay on a path to the Super Rugby finals.

Getting Kuridrani more action looms as a key weapon for a clash against the Melbourne Rebels on Friday night as the teams compete for Australia's guaranteed finals berth.

Larkham says the Brumbies will "push the boundaries in attack" for the rest of the season, opening the door for a Kuridrani onslaught if he can get the ball.

Kuridrani is one of only two Brumbies who have played every minute of every match this season and is helping hold together an injury-hit back line without stars Matt Toomua, Henry Speight and Joseph Tomane.

But a shift in attacking mentality and a big defensive workload has hit his attacking impact, despite being the leading Brumby for run metres per game and total runs, as well as the second for tackle busts and linebreaks.

The 25-year-old is facing a massive challenge from Israel Folau to keep his Wallabies starting spot for the mid-year Test series against England.

Kuridrani and Brumbies co-captain Christian Lealiifano have two games left to prove to coach Michael Cheika that they deserve a gold jersey.

"I think Tevita has started the season really well but for a number of reasons the play just hasn't gone his way," Larkham said.

"He's made a couple of mistakes but he's been very consistent this year and over the last couple fo rounds we've seen him start to play his best football.

"He's starting to get his hands on the ball a little bit more and in the new attacking shape we've been playing we've had an adjustment in trying to find touches for Tevita.

"We're finding better ways to get him into the game. Defensively he's doing a superb job and connecting really well with the other backs around him."

Kuridrani, Lealiifano and Aidan Toua have been the mainstays of the Brumbies' back line as they battle a growing injury toll.

Lealiifano has been rock solid at flyhalf and is on Wallabies coach Michael Cheika's radar as well. But the Brumbies pair are competing with Folau, Bernard Foley and Kurtley Beale for key positions.

"Christian's taken a lot on this year but for mine he's been the form player for us this season," Larkham said.

"There's a lot of intense competition in the inside backs for the Wallabies at the moment ... Christian has handled everything thrown at him this year and is still improving every week."

Larkham has named an unchanged line-up for the first time this season in preparation for a brutal derby against the Rebels.

The Brumbies, the NSW Waratahs and the Rebels are locked in tight competition for Australia's spot in the Super Rugby play-offs and are separated by just two points on the ladder.

That makes the Brumbies-Rebels contest even more important with limited regular season games remaining.

The Brumbies showed glimpses of their best in a win against the Pretoria Bulls last weekend, but also displayed the errors in their game that have prevented them from maintaining an Australian conference lead.

The Brumbies failed to kick the ball out from penalties on three occasions and squandered multiple chances to score an important bonus-point try.

"The three instances where we didn't kick the ball out was pretty ordinary," Larkham said.

"You might expect one every couple of games because we push the boundaries trying to get it right into the corner to make the most of it.

"I think every team is making mistakes in this competition. The biggest work-on for us is to make the most of our opportunities. We're creating, but we just can't get across the line."
