That could mean grabbing a protein shake for a teammate, a broom to sweep the changerooms or finding some dinner after World Cup matches.

Henry Speight, Joseph Tomane, Quade Cooper, Sam Carter and James Hanson have played just three games between them at the World Cup this year.

For late call-ups as injury replacements Carter and Hanson, they haven't played at all.

But they've taken it upon themselves to "do the little things" to do their bit for their teammates and that's why you'll see them sweeping up the mess after the semi-final against Argentina on Sunday (Monday morning AEDT).

It's part of a plan to build squad-wide respect in the Wallabies for every player, not just the 23 men who pull on the gold jersey on game day.

"It goes without saying that on game day we sit in the stands and don't do much, the boys are out there representing us, our families, everyone back home and putting their bodies on the line," Speight said.

"After the game we try to give them a helping hand in whatever they need. That might be getting a protein shake, some dinner or cleaning the sheds.

"We're all in it together and you want to make sure the changerooms are in a respectable condition when you leave.

"It's not something that's a written thing for the non-players to do. It's just something we like to do to get everyone towards the one goal. Those little things make this pretty special to be a part of."

Cleaning up after themselves in the sheds is something the Wallabies have taken on board, similar to the approach of World Cup holders New Zealand who hand the broom to veterans like Richie McCaw.

The Wallabies will play one more game at the World Cup, irrespective of the result against Argentina.

If they win, that match will be a clash against New Zealand in the final. A loss would see them move to a play-off for third place against South Africa.

Either way, Speight says the fringe players want to show they're ready to be thrown into any challenge if needed by coach Michael Cheika.

Fijian-born winger Speight is at his first World Cup, soaking up the experience and making his tournament debut against Uruguay three weeks ago.

His World Cup took a twist when he was called up to replace Adam Ashley-Cooper in a meeting with Queen Elizabeth at Buckingham Palace.

Speight, sporting a flat-top haircut that he says is bringing old school back, was standing with South African legends Victor Matfield and Bryan Habana when the Queen stopped by for a chat.

"No way did I think I'd be there, not from a little boarding school in Fiji to meeting the Queen at Buckingham Palace," Speight said.

"It's a long way to come and it was pretty special. There were massive ballrooms and things you see in the movies. It was pretty awesome, a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity.

"You reflect on it all at a World Cup, it's the pinnacle and you appreciate the journey and sacrifices, not only in the past few years but right the way through. You take inspiration from that."
