But while he looks more like a panda than arguably the most influential player of the tournament, Pocock says he's ready to break through for a World Cup triumph.

Pocock looms as the Wallabies' gamebreaker as he prepares to duel with New Zealand's Richie McCaw in the final at Twickenham on Saturday (Sunday morning AEDT).

He's even invited his 'hero' David Attenborough to the final after watching his documentaries to unwind in an intense World Cup campaign.

"I don't know heaps about the panda, I'm just trying to avoid snoring at the moment," Pocock joked.

"It's another step along the road. It's been four or five weeks of finals for us now, every game has been huge. We're just going back to our routine and preparation to do the same thing.

"I'm a big fan of wildlife programmes, particularly those by David Attenborough. He's a big hero of mine. On Sunday for post-game recovery I put on a couple of Attenborough episodes and put my feet up.

"I was rewatching his Africa series. If he wants to come to the final I'm sure we could organise some tickets. He's a legend."

Pocock can complete a remarkable comeback from two knee reconstructions if the Wallabies manage to win the World Cup final.

The 27-year-old has the battle scars to prove his journey has been worthwhile.

He played most of the semi-final against Argentina with blood pouring from his nose.

"It's getting towards the end of the season so you've played a lot of rugby and your body gets used to recovering," Pocock said.

"We've got an outstanding strength and conditioning and medical team and physios who look after us so there'll be no trouble getting up for another game."

The Wallabies are bunkering down in Teddington in preparation for the week ahead.

They face a massive task to beat the world champion All Blacks, who have lost minimal games in the past four years.

Pocock will be taking on McCaw in an epic battle of two champions, but the ACT Brumbies star said the players couldn't get caught up in the hype.

"As a player, you don't want to let yourself get swept up in all those things," Pocock said.

"We're very much focused on it being the next game in our campaign in our journey and we'll treat it like that.

"I guess it will be something you look back at down the track and realise how special it was, but for us now it's focused on here and now."

The Wallabies will name their team later this week, with prop Scott Sio fighting to be fit after missing the quarter-final with an elbow injury.

Pocock has fully recovered from a calf injury while Israel Folau and Scott Fardy are also expected to be fit.
