The Brumbies trounced the Queensland Reds 47-3 in the opening round of the Super Rugby season and flexed their attacking muscle to score six tries to none in a scintillating display.

But the Brumbies have been told to wipe the slate clean before a 14-hour journey to New Plymouth for a 2013 grand final re-match against the Waikato Chiefs and cross-code superstar Sonny Bill Williams.

Moore and David Pocock got through the Reds demolition unscathed and the Brumbies could be bolstered by the return of fullback Jesse Mogg this week as Robbie Coleman races the clock to recover from a corked hip.

The Brumbies won just one of their four games in New Zealand and South Africa last season.

"It's a completely difference scenario to playing [round one], we've had a couple of weeks at home in our own beds to prepare, but this is all different," Moore said.

"It's a long travel day, a short turnaround and a tough game against a really good Chiefs side. It will really show us where we are at."

The Chiefs beat the Brumbies by five points in the grand final two years ago, but the Brumbies got revenge by knocking the Hamilton-based side out of the finals last season.

Williams is back in rugby after a two-year stint with the Sydney Roosters, during which he lifted the NRL trophy in the same season that the Chiefs beat the Brumbies.

The Brumbies hit top gear in their season-opener against the under-manned Reds and were ruthless in attack, but they face a stiffer challenge in New Zealand.

The team will fly from Canberra to Sydney, on to Auckland and to New Plymouth, taking out a whole day of travel.

But the good news is that Moore and Pocock have shaken their injury concerns in strong displays after season-ending knee operations last year.

"I was nervous today, no doubt. I haven't had that feeling for eight months so it was a bit strange," Moore said.

"After a couple of minutes I was too buggered to even think about [my knee]. I got a bit of a knock at a couple of rucks, that shows it's in good shape and hopefully I can put it behind me."

Pocock was outstanding in his 80-minute return, back to his menacing best at the breakdown and proving he will be a key man for the Wallabies and Brumbies this year.

Brumbies coach Stephen Larkham joked Pocock needed to string more than two games together before he can move on from the injury woes which have limited him to five games in the past two years.

"I loved it, it's been a long-time coming. It was a really good way to start the year, really proud of the effort and to keep the Reds try-less is the biggest thing we'll take out of the game," Pocock said.

"It hasn't worried me [people talking about my knee], I'm feeling good. But I'm looking forward to the day when people don't ask about it."

Coleman is the only injury concern in the Brumbies camp, with a decision on his availability to be made in the coming days.
