The Brumbies will play their first game under new coach Jake White when they take on the Western Force at Canberra Stadium.

It's the beginning of a new era with 15 new players and one of the most inexperienced squads in the competition.

Moore - the team's most experienced player - has been cleared to play against the Force after recovering from a shoulder injury.

He will be joined by six players making their debut and White hopes the Brumbies can use their unknown talent as a weapon.

It's a stark contrast to Brumbies teams of the past which were made up of Wallabies.

But while they lack the star power of previous years, Test rake Moore said the squad had lofty standards and would not settle for below-par performances.

''I'm not speaking for other players, but I don't think [the expectations] are different to any other year,'' Moore said.

''The media and other teams put those expectations on how well a team is expected to do.

''But I know internally we always expect to do well and if we don't, there's no point going out to play.

''If you don't think you can win, you certainly won't be successful.

''It's a young group and we're building and rebuilding, but we certainly want to be successful straight away and we won't be accepting any mediocre performances.''

Vice-captain Moore will play a crucial role in steering the young Brumbies around the field after being mentally drained last year after the Super Rugby season and the Wallabies' World Cup campaign.

He is the strongest set-piece hooker in Australia and has played 65 Tests for the Wallabies.

Two years ago he was part of a Brumbies side labelled the Real Madrid of the competition because of its superstar line-up which included Matt Giteau, Rocky Elsom, Adam Ashley-Cooper, Ben Alexander and Mark Chisholm.

Despite all except Moore and Alexander departing, Wallabies coach Robbie Deans backed the Brumbies to give the finals a ''nudge'' and be a surprise team of the competition.

Now Moore's challenge is ushering in a new generation with captain Ben Mowen and fellow deputies Dan Palmer and Pat McCabe.

''We've got a very young squad and it's important we have strong leaders,'' Moore said.

''There's no real leadership group, everyone has to stand up and make themselves counted.

''On the field it has got to be the guys who have been there before and they need to lead the way.

''My role in the team doesn't change, I've got certain things I need to do well.''

White will blood Leon Power and Jesse Mogg in the starting XV tomorrow with rookies Ruaidhri Murphy, Scott Fardy, Joseph Tomane and Zack Holmes on the bench.

Mowen stressed a round-one victory was important, but insisted it would not ''make or break'' the team's season.

''Our season is not over if we lose and our season isn't made if we win [tomorrow night],'' Mowen side.

White said it was up to his senior players to ensure his rookies made a smooth transition into Super Rugby.

''It's vital that the senior players make it memorable for the debutants,'' White said.

''A lot of boys dream about playing Super Rugby and my message is that I'd like the senior boys to make it something they're going to remember for a long time.''
