But the Vikings hope to inject a Test player of their own in Christian Lealiifano while Wallaby-in-waiting Henry Speight is an outside chance of a surprise comeback against the NSW Country Eagles on Saturday.

ACT Brumbies duo White and Mann-Rea are part of the Eagles squad and are set to take on their Super Rugby teammates as they search for more game time to impress Wallabies coach Ewen McKenzie.

The Wallabies are still reeling after their shock loss to Argentina last weekend and McKenzie is poised to deliver a selection shake-up for the game against New Zealand on October 18.

Mann-Rea made his Test debut from the bench against Argentina, White played 20 minutes as the back up halfback and Lealiifano was left out of the game-day squad.

Super Rugby players are distributed throughout the NRC, setting up a blockbuster contest between mates, with 15 Brumbies to go head to head at Viking Park.

"To have Wallabies guys coming back is awesome ... it will be a great game if they're playing and it makes for exciting rugby," said Vikings lock Rory Arnold.

" 'Whitey' and 'Bongo' [Mann-Rea] know all of our moves so that will make it interesting. We just have to work harder."

The Wallabies arrived back in Australia on Tuesday night and a decision on whether White, Mann-Rea and Lealiifano play will be made later in the week.

Fijian-born Speight has almost overcome a hamstring injury and if he doesn't play against the Eagles, he is an all but certain starter next week.

If Speight plays this week, he could rocket into selection calculations for the Test against the All Blacks in Brisbane.

Fellow Brumbies winger Joseph Tomane has been solid in his two-Test return and it is unclear whether he will line up for the Vikings against the Eagles.

Canberra's finals hopes hinge on their last two games against the Eagles and the Quade Cooper-led Brisbane City.

A controversial decision to deny the Vikings a last-minute penalty goal last week has put their play-off plans dangerously close to disaster in the competition's inaugural season.

The Eagles are second on the ladder and have lost just two games this season.

Arnold is using the NRC to launch his Super Rugby career after signing a deal with the Brumbies and overcoming a shoulder injury.

"We can only focus on this weekend, we know we have to win two in a row but we can't look ahead," Arnold said.

"In my first week I didn't make one tackle with my left shoulder, it felt a bit awkward. But it's definitely 100 per cent now."

Wallabies captain Michael Hooper lookalike Rowan Perry is hoping to push for a Super Rugby contract after impressing in the NRC.

The former Australian under-20s flanker has been outstanding in his efforts from Canberra's bench as he juggles a university exercise science and coaching degree and rugby.

"I'd love to play Super Rugby, I'm happy in the NRC at the moment but Super Rugby is the goal," Perry said.

"We know we have to win this weekend or we'll be relying on other results to keep our finals hopes alive."
