Just two months before Speight becomes eligible to play for the Wallabies, the 26-year-old has revealed the Australian government is blocking his sister Davila and brother Jerry from watching him play in Canberra because they are deemed a risk of becoming asylum seekers.

But as the Brumbies prepare for a knockout finals clash against the Waikato Chiefs, Speight is beaming after older brother Sam, who has a British passport, arrived in Canberra on Wednesday night to watch him in action for the first time.

Speight hasn't given up on his dream of having all three in the crowd if he makes his Test debut in September.

Davila and Jerry have had two applications for temporary visas rejected by immigration because their father came to Australia on a protection visa when Speight was a child and officials believe his brother and sister are a risk of staying in the country.

Speight and the Brumbies have written to immigration detailing plans for a visit and their return to Fiji, but officials are refusing to budge.

It means Speight has seen Sam, Davila and Jerry just once in almost a year and the quartet haven't been in the same place for even longer.

But with Sam in the crowd and Davila and Jerry watching from their Fijian village, nothing will be able to wipe the smile off Speight's face on Saturday night.

"After four years, to have him [Sam] coming to watch me play is pretty amazing. Words can't describe how happy I am," Speight said.

"I'm a bit emotional, but I'm just happy my older brother is going to be here. Finally. I can take him around the Brumbies, show him where I work, it's exciting.

"Hopefully we can sort this out with immigration [and] I can get my two other siblings to come over and see what I do. My father moved to Queensland seeking asylum and because of that, we're in the same boat.

"It doesn't matter how good your application is, we've applied two times and it's been rejected because they say insufficient evidence that [Davila and Jerry] have things to go back to in Fiji, and that they're at risk of being asylum seekers.

"It's a pain to me because my dad had his own reasons, but that had nothing to do with us kids. In four years with the Brumbies, none of my family from Fiji has been to Australia."

Speight's uncle is George Speight, the Fijian coup leader serving life in prison. But the reason for the Department of Immigration's decision to reject applications for temporary visas for Davila and Jerry stem from Speight's father.

He moved to Australia on a protection visa and, because of that, immigration has deemed Davila and Jerry a risk of over-staying their time in Australia to seek asylum.

Speight has sent supporting letters detailing he will be in charge of them returning to Fiji.

The Brumbies have also written to Immigration on behalf of the ARU to support the case, but pleas have so far fallen on deaf ears.

Speight is prepared to spill blood for Australia when he becomes eligible to play for the Wallabies in September, but his dream is to have all of his siblings in the crowd if he gets a chance to make his Test debut.

Sam, who's in the British Army, landed in Canberra on Wednesday night and will fly out on Monday. He was allowed into Australia because he also qualifies as a British national.

"I want to show them why Canberra is home for me now," Speight said.

"Sam is one step, hopefully we can get the ball rolling and hopefully get immigration on board so they see where I'm coming from.

"[Davila and Jerry] would never jeopardise any visa conditions or what not. They know how important it is for me to be here and for them to keep coming to watch the Brumbies play.

"I'm trying to give my all for the Brumbies and Australia and hopefully [immigration] sees there's enough reasoning to let them come through."

Known as the Brumbies' ''bro with the fro'', Speight is regarded as one of the hardest working, toughest and nicest players in the competition.

He broke his jaw earlier this year but turned down painkillers to watch the rest of the match, then tried to give a speech after the game to thank his teammates for their "gutsy" effort.

He runs the water for the Gungahlin Eagles in club rugby every week and paid for the entire ACT women's sevens team dinner without them knowing at a jersey presentation.

Every week he sends photos from the Brumbies' change rooms to his family in Fiji to make them feel as close to the action as possible.

Sam rarely sees his younger brother, but is oozing excitement before his first trip to Canberra Stadium.

In fact, Sam almost became a Brumbies player when the team was in London for a world club sevens tournament last year, but officials stopped him before he could run on the field as an injury replacement because he arrived 24 hours too late.

"It's good timing, I get to squeeze this one before I go back to London. Everything fell into place and I think Henry is a bit shocked I'm here," Sam said.

"It took me some time getting used to watching him on the TV, so being here is strange. The excitement is definitely there. I've heard he's a bit of a cult hero with his afro, I've seen it on the internet.

"I can't get over it, but I'm definitely proud of him. He makes everyone at home feel special.

"It would be perfect if all of the siblings could watch, but it's not happening just yet. If I applied with the Fijian passport, I wouldn't be allowed either. So I'm lucky I have a British passport."

The polite Speight is an entertainer. He's in the best form of his career and will almost certainly be called up for Wallabies duties in September after a drawn out eligibility debacle to play for Australia.

Speight was constantly stopped by fans at the Canberra Centre earlier this week for a signing session and he's a fan favourite.

"I just want to make the fans in Canberra proud this weekend, that's my goal this weekend," Speight said.
