The Rockets snatched their second title in three years and avenged last year's grand final defeat with an 84-75 win over Queensland in the open men's decider.
Queensland went unbeaten in 10 games and looked primed to clinch a second straight national championship in Mackay on Saturday.
But experienced stars Matthew Floros (7) and man of the match Brock Winkler (14) guided the Rockets home in a nail-biting run chase.
An "emotional" Floros says achieving championship glory with his "best friends" is something he's been striving for for a very long time.
There could be plenty more success around the corner, with two titles and another grand final appearance in three years suggesting an ACT dynasty in the indoor format is well under way.
