A three-pointer from Daniel Joyce with 12 seconds on the clock delivered the Canberra Gunners a thrilling 83-80 win against the Brisbane Spartans at the Belconnen Basketball Stadium on Saturday night.

The Gunners (6-11) hung on as the Spartans missed a chance to send the game into overtime, ending their losing streak in the South East Australian Basketball League.
Joyce equal top-scored for the Gunners with 23 points, including an impressive six from nine from beyond the three-point arc.
He received great assistance from American import Nnaebuka Anyaorah, who scored 23 points and picked up 11 rebounds, and centre Ben Allen (19 points and 10 rebounds).
Scores were tied at the end of the first quarter before the Spartans pulled away to lead by seven points at half-time.
The Gunners reduced the deficit to five points at three-quarter time before over-hauling the Spartans in the final 10 minutes.
Meanwhile, the Canberra Capitals Academy suffered a six-point loss to the Albury Lady Bandits, going down 57-51.
Julia Forster and Kristen Langhorn were the standouts for the Capitals with 17 and 15 points respectively.
The Gunners and the Canberra Capitals Academy host Sandringham next Saturday night.
