The Canberra Capitals captain was in red-hot form, but it was the way the rest of the line-up got involved in the final 30 minutes that bodes well for the rest of the season.
The Capitals romped to a 101-72 victory against the Rangers on Saturday courtesy of Bishop's game-high 28 points and 12 rebounds.
While Bishop set the platform with an incredible first-quarter display, scoring 20 of the team's 25 points, the Capitals' role players also came to the fore.
Veteran Jess Bibby chipped in with 20 points off the bench, including five from eight beyond the three-point arc, Adelaide Lightning recruit Stephanie Talbot had 17 points and eight rebounds and guard Alice Coddington, admirably filling in for the injured Hanna Zavecz, had 10 points on 4-5 shooting.
Everything, well almost everything, fell for Bishop in the first quarter as she went eight from nine from the field.
But she was happy to share the load and sat out the entire last quarter with the game in the bag.
"Yeah, I kind of was [feeling it], every time I shot, it went in," Bishop said.
"It was a good start for me and a good start for the team, but there's one, two, three, four people in double figures.

Talbot also had an influence on the defensive end, guarding Cappie Pondexter and limiting the WNBA star to 14 points on 6-17 shooting from the field.
"Steph did a fantastic job, offensively and defensively on Cappie," Bishop said.
"She's a huge part of their team and for her to lock her down the way she did was huge and a credit to her.
"It makes us better and tougher to beat with more people showing up on both ends of the floor."
Pondexter has carried the scoring load for the Rangers since arriving this season, but Talbot wasn't intimidated by the task of stopping her.
"I
"For me, being a longer body over her, it was about keeping a hand in her face at all times.
"Bish was dominating that first quarter, y
After holding just an eight-point lead at half-time, the Capitals blew the game open in the third quarter to go ahead by 20 points before cruising home in the final 10 minutes.
They are now 2-2 on the season, but have a short turnaround ahead of Wednesday night's game on the road against the Sydney Uni Flames.
With the Capitals still missing Zavecz and Lauren Jackson, Bibby said the team's offence was starting to click.
"We don't want to rely on one or two people to carry the load on the offensive end," Bibby said.
"All the great teams spread the load.
"Offensively we're a work in progress, defensively we've been pretty solid."
