Less than 48 hours after getting eliminated from the nation-wide knockout tournament, Tigers FC took out its frustrations on Woden-Weston FC with a 5-0 thumping at Woden Park on Friday night.
The result takes away some of the sting of Tigers FC's 3-0 loss to Gungahlin United in their FFA Cup qualifying semi-final on Wednesday night.
Tigers FC moves temporarily back up to second on the NPL standings, just one point behind leaders Belconnen United ahead of Sunday's fixtures.
Belconnen United can restore its four-point gap when it takes on Gungahlin United at Gungahlin Enclosed.
In Sunday's other games, Canberra Olympic travels to Kambah to face Tuggeranong United and Monaro Panthers host Canberra FC at Riverside Stadium.
Tigers FC took just 17 minutes to break the deadlock, Hussain Fureje tapping in from close range off a pass from Alex Oloriegbe.
Oloriegbe went from provider to scorer soon after when he cleaned up a rebound from keeper Rory Larkin for his 11th goal of the campaign.
Larkin saved Julian Borgna's penalty attempt, but Borgna recovered to put Tigers FC up 3-0 heading into half-time.
Any doubt about the three points evaporated when Borgna completed his brace in the 55th minute.
Veteran Goran Josifovski completed a great night for the Tigers, smashing a shot from 25m out low into the bottom corner.
