Two second-half own goals brought the Capital Football treble winners undone as they fell to the Brisbane Strikers at Perry Park on Saturday night.
Brisbane struck first in the sixth minute before Olympic replied with a Jordan Tsekenis brace to give the visitors a 2-1 half-time lead.
Things began to unravel in the second stanza as Brisbane drew level when an Olympic boot collected a Fraser Hills cross to find the back of the net in the 67th minute.
It was almost a carbon copy with nine minutes left as a Strikers pass ricocheted off a Canberra player to give Brisbane the lead.
Olympic's defeat marks the fourth time in as many years a Capital Football side has exited the tournament in the opening round.
