United's depth will be tested in its second game in the space of 48 hours when it takes on Canberra Olympic in the quarter-finals of the qualifying stages of the knockout tournament at the Hawker Football Centre on Tuesday night.
After a slow start in its first season in the National Premier League, United's squad is beginning to click in recent weeks.
United has moved to equal fourth on the Capital Football NPL table after a 1-1 draw with league leaders Canberra FC on Sunday.
But United coach Claudio Canosa admits his side faces another difficult challenge coming up against second-placed Olympic on a short rest.
"It's a wonderful opportunity for us," Canosa said.
"Obviously we had a very hard game yesterday, and now we have to switch and concentrate on this game against Canberra Olympic, which is going to be a very tough game as well.
"Canberra Olympic are in the same scenario as us as they played yesterday, but we are looking forward to it."
Canosa said he was hopeful midfielder Shane Murray would be available to play despite being taken off on a stretcher late in the draw with Canberra FC.
"If I have to be really honest, we probably don't have the depth," Canosa said.
"We have some good under-20 players coming up and fringe players off the bench.
"The good thing is that it's 11 against 11, but it will be a difficult match."
Tigers FC will be favoured to progress to the last four when it takes on Capital League side White Eagles FC in Tuesday night's other quarter-final.
The two remaining quarter-finals will be held on May 26.
The Monaro Panthers will face last year's Capital Football representatives, Tuggeranong United, who progressed to the round of 16 where they hosted A-League champions Melbourne Victory.
Victory beat Tuggeranong 6-0 in front of more than 5000 people at Viking Park.
The challenge will be ahead of Capital League side ANU FC after they drew defending grand final winners Belconnen United.
Olympic will be aiming to get back in the winner's circle after they were held to a 1-1 draw with the Panthers on Sunday.
TUESDAY: FFA Cup qualifying quarter-finals: Gungahlin United v Canberra Olympic, 6pm. Tigers FC v White Eagles FC, 8pm. Both games at the Hawker Football Centre.
