A Bennett ton (167*) gifted Creek their first two-day title in three years in the Cricket ACT Douglas Cup grand final against Eastlake at Chisholm Oval on Saturday, as captains shook hands with a day to play.

Man of the match Bennett's stirling 216-ball knock, combined with Sam Taylor's 82* (59) and Jono Dean's 66, propelled Creek to 4-430, surging past Eastlake's 290. Hayden Page was the pick of the Eastlake bowlers with 2-105.

"It really doesn't get any better than this," Bennett said.

"To come across from ANU three seasons ago, and play in every grand final since but not having won the two-day stuff, it's just an amazing feeling. To do it in two days is even more amazing.

"No words really, I'm sure over the next 24 hours it will all sink in.

"All in a day's work. There's ups and downs in any sport, but to have the two days that we did, it was impressive."

Page says Creek "owned the back end of both days" to put Eastlake into a position they ultimately couldn't recover from - but all signs are pointing to a bright future.

"We set ourselves for this and on the back of last week we came in with the belief that we deserved to be here and we were going to give it a fair crack," Page said.

"There's a few young fellas here and I think the big thing is, it's just a really strong group. All year we've spent a lot of time together, obviously on the field but outside of cricket as well.

"That has really set up a strong few seasons for us in the way that blokes are wanting to turn up for each other."

Page says Eastlake batsman Adam Tett is "just feeling like the rest of us" after copping a head knock that forced him to retire hurt on day one, sparking interest in Cricket ACT implementing a concussion policy.

Cricket ACT boss Cameron French is open to implementing a concussion policy with concern about head knocks at "an all-time high", but until then the onus is on players to be smart about their wellbeing.

Blows to the head have quickly become a far more serious issue in cricket following the death of Phillip Hughes in November 2014, when he was fatally struck by a ball in a Sheffield Shield match that changed the cricketing landscape.

Tett's head knock comes after ANU skipper Dan Leerdam was rushed off in an ambulance after collapsing with a concussion midway through the second innings of the John Gallop Cup decider in December.

Meanwhile, Western District-UC will face Tuggeranong in the women's Lynne O'Meara Cup decider at Jamison Oval on Sunday.

The Lions are brimming with confidence after destructive opener Zoe Cooke blasted 190* from just 124 balls in the semi-final against North Canberra-Gungahlin last weekend.

Tuggeranong's Victoria King says getting Cooke cheaply would be a "huge" confidence boost, but Cooke's Wests teammate Lauren Woods is hoping she can repeat the dose.

"She's pretty much the glue of the team. She always performs well every game," Woods said.

"Hopefully she can get another hundred, that would be good."
