The ACT Brumbies play the Otago Highlanders in the capital on Friday night and the Canberra club has taken steps to ensure fans flock through the gates.

The first 2000 at the ground will get a free pie and a chance to see David Pocock's likely comeback from a broken eye socket.

It's just the third Super Rugby qualifying final in Canberra in 11 years and the Brumbies need to beat the Highlanders to prove they're not title pretenders.

While the Brumbies are in do-or-die mode, the Canberra Raiders can smell a top-four berth in the NRL.

They'll jump up the ladder if they beat the New Zealand Warriors on Saturday afternoon.
