There's no doubting his ability to deliver under pressure either.
While there was no room for Dean at the Adelaide Strikers, the Hobart Hurricanes and Sydney Sixers could do worse than give the Canberran a call as they edge closer to finalising their BBL rosters.
Dean blasted 91 from just 54 balls, finding the rope six times and clearing it on five more occasions, in the ACT's win over Parramatta in the Kingsgrove Twenty20 Cup at Manuka Oval.
He backed it up in the afternoon against Bankstown - looking as calm as they come, Dean belted a six in a super over to give the hosts a clean sweep in the final weekend of the tournament's pool stages.
The 34-year-old's morning blitz against Parramatta helped the hosts to 3-183 from their 20 overs, before a classy bowling display from Shane Devoy (2-25) secured a 24-run victory.
Then came a clash with a Bankstown side featuring Canberra product Ben Taylor, one of the region's most talented youngsters opting to ply their trade in Sydney in search of a higher standard of cricket.
For some time it looked like the ACT side that opened the day with a roar would finish with a whimper.
Taylor claimed 1-22 from four overs as the ACT barely managed to eke out a run a ball in posting 9-126, leaving Bankstown with a genuine sniff of victory in enemy territory.
The visitors cruised to 0-46 before Devoy sparked a comeback for the hosts to leave the game hanging in the balance heading into the final over.
Bankstown needed five runs for victory but could only manage four to send the game to a super over, and the visitors posted 0-7 to leave the ACT requiring eight for victory.
With someone like Dean at the top of the rivals' order, eight was never going to be enough. Two leg byes and a towering six off Taylor's bowling took the ACT past the target in just three balls.
However it was too little, too late for the ACT, who missed out on securing a finals berth after a slow start to the tournament.
