The Canberra sprinter was in tears after taking out the Drentse 8 race in the Netherlands, the warm-up to tomorrow's opening round of the World Cup series.
''I know the big one's on Saturday [today], but this is my first really big European win and I've been over here since 2009,'' the Specialized-lululemon rider told Dutch television.
''The girls were all amazing today. I'm really overwhelmed.''
The 21-year-old claimed some big scalps in the win, with two-time defending world road champion Giorgia Bronzini of Italy finishing second and Dutch star Marianne Vos taking third.
Hocking is enjoying a strong run of form, finishing sixth last September at the world road championships.
After winning a race and finishing third overall at the Jayco Bay Classic criterium series in January, Hosking was fifth overall in the Tour of Qatar.
Hosking is in the Australian road squad for the Olympics.
While Drentse 8 was a sprinter's course and different from the London road course, scoring a major international win is a definite boost to Hosking as she tries to make the Games team.
Her next race will be Sunday's World Cup opener, the Ronde Van Drenthe.
