Now exciting winger Hristijan Tanoski looms as Canberra Olympic's X-factor for the ACT Premier League finals.
Tanoski returns to the Olympic line-up for tomorrow's pivotal match against league champion Belconnen United at O'Connor having starred at the recent national schoolboys titles in Townsville.
Olympic vice-president John Athanasiou said Tanoski's inclusion couldn't come at a better time, with third-placed Olympic able to secure its place in the finals with victory over the Blue Devils.
''Having [Tanoski] fit and ready to be play will be critical in Olympic's charge to the finals,'' he said.
''He's mature way beyond his years and has got a level head on his shoulders.
''There hasn't been a game situation in the past two years that has fazed him.''
Tanoski was one of two ACT Premier League players chosen in the Australian Schoolboys along with Canberra FC back-up goalkeeper Jakob Cole.
There's also a strong representation in the women's Premier League, with Tuggeranong United's Alex Lawrence named as the player of the tournament on her way to being named in the Australian team.
She is joined in the national squad by ACT teammates, goalkeeper Emilie Adams and midfielder Jaline Hoek.
Tanoski's performances have put him on the radar of several A-League clubs after he didn't look out of place in the Rockets team that lost 9-1 to the Newcastle Jets earlier this year.
Meanwhile, Woden Valley will look to keep its finals hopes alive and keep the pressure on reigning champion Canberra FC when it takes on Tuggeranong United at Kambah.
Woden Valley is three points behind Canberra FC in the race for fourth spot.
