Robbie Perkins has signed a new two-year deal with the Canberra Cavalry, a boost for the team which bowed out of last year's championship series one game short against the Brisbane Bandits.

Perkins, 24, was named inaugural captain last year and has played with Cavalry for seven years.
Perkins said it was good to be back with the team and that he was looking forward to the upcoming season.
"Taking on the role as captain last year was a big deal. I was proud Wardy asked me to step into a leadership role, especially being surrounded by such a great group of guys," he said.
Cavalry chief executive and co-owner Donn Michael said signing Robbie was his main priority and that Robbie had been an oustanding leader.
"He is one of Australia's best two catchers and continues to grow both as a player and a leader," Michael said.
