Canberra United assistant coach Raeanne Dower will spend the W-League off-season working with the region's next generation of stars, as the head coach of the ACT Academy of Sport women's program.

Dower was a popular addition to United's coaching staff in her first season alongside Elisabeth Migchelsen as the team won the premiership.
The Brisbane native has a background in junior development as the head coach of Queensland girls teams at under-13, under-17 and under-18 levels.
Capital Football chief executive Heather Reid said Dower's appointment would ensure ACTAS continues to provide high-quality training programs for elite talent.
''Rae has proven to be an exceptional coach and leader in her role as assistant with Canberra United and has many years of experience in coaching, developing and promoting female players in her home state of Queensland,'' Reid said.
''Her appointment helps to consolidate the pathway between ACTAS and Canberra United, which has been an integral part of our strategic technical and elite player pathway development.''
Dower will begin her new position next month, but will work with Capital Football technical staff to finalise selections for the program's 15 scholarship-holders.
She takes over from Ray Junna, who is now in charge of Canberra FC in the men's Premier League.
