Full diplomatic relations between Canberra and Jakarta are on hold in response to the executions of Andrew Chan and Myuran Sukumaran, but the attention-grabbing freeze will last weeks rather than months as both sides insulate vital trade and security ties from damage.
Well-placed official sources concede personal and government-to-government relations have sunk to their lowest level in years but expect the recall of Australia's ambassador Paul Grigson to be a short and sharp affair even if it is the first time Canberra has gone to such lengths to express its displeasure with Indonesia.
- Australian Federal Police officers are set to be called before a parliamentary committee within weeks to explain the organisation's role in delivering the executed Bali nine ring leaders Andrew Chan and Myuran Sukumaran to Indonesian authorities a decade ago.

9:02am: City-bound traffic on Northbourne Avenue might need to slow down near the Rex Hotel, south of Ipima Street. Two cars have collided outside the hotel but they're not blocking any lanes.
8:55am: Travelling on Hindmarsh Drive or the Tuggeranong Parkway? Watch out for a car crash on the parkway's northbound off-ramp.
There will be night time roadworks on Fairbairn Avenue and Morshead Drive due to construction works related to the Majura Parkway project. Road closures will now be in place between 6.30pm and 5am each night until 5am Saturday.
Fairbairn Avenue will be closed between the Northcott Drive roundabout and Majura Road. Morshead Drive will be closed between Fairbairn Avenue and Pialligo Avenue.
Work has also started on a series of road safety improvements on Yamba Drive in Mawson, O'Malley, Farrer and Isaacs.

The Sydney Dance Company's powerful double bill from two acclaimed choreographic talents opens at Canberra Theatre tonight.
The performance includes William Forsythe's Quintet and Sydney Dance Company artistic director Rafael Bonachela's Frame of Mind.

Closures will be in place at a number of reserves across the ACT as the kangaroo cull starts today.
Closed sites include Callum Brae Nature Reserve, Crace Nature Reserve, Goorooyarroo Nature Reserve, Gungaderra Nature Reserve, Mount Painter Nature Reserve, Mulanggari Nature Reserve, The Pinnacle Nature Reserve and Wanniassa Hills Nature Reserve.
Sites will be closed from 3pm and 5pm to 7am each day between today, Thursday April 30, and Friday July 31.
