The Canberra Centre has now confirmed the international label will open its door on Thursday, March 14.
The Canberra Centre will be celebrating the opening of the new store with two weekends of fashion showings, fashion styling classes and personal styling sessions kicking off on March 15.
Canberra Centre manager Karen Noad said the opening was expected to draw large crowds to the store on its opening day.
She said large amounts of Canberrans “have been anticipating the opening of Zara since their pending arrival was revealed in December”.
Additional security will be there on the day to cope with the expected increased number of shoppers.
Zara's move into the Canberra market has been the subject of speculation since April last year. Boarding on a vacant space on the top level of the Canberra Centre in December confirmed the rumours.
The store also launched a recruitment drive in January, in which candidates were to be put through a public test of their passion for fashion.
