Peter Zdravkovic, 34, was sent to jail last December for insurance fraud and his role in a drug selling operation.
He is eligible for parole this December, but is currently appealing the conviction, his lawyer told the court.
Appearing before the ACT Magistrates Court on Thursday, Zdravkovic pleaded not guilty to possessing methamphetamine, in an offence dated April 14 this year.
Magistrate Peter Morrison set the case down for hearing later this month.
