The Canberra Raiders have renewed calls for clubs to be given compensation for losing players they've invested time and money developing, adamant the "well could run dry" if a safety blanket isn't installed.
The Raiders have a strong track record of nurturing juniors into NRL stars, but the loss of Anthony Milford to Brisbane effectively forced a rethink of what amount they will invest into future development.

When Ruth Foley became a probation parole officer with ACT correction services, she decided to do her part to make Canberra roads safer.
Ms Foley now operates Dial A Driver, a service that takes drunk Canberrans home in their own cars and while it's a bit pricey, she said it's cheaper than going to court.

"In the coming days we should have the minimum temperature drop to 1 degree in the early hours of the morning in the ACT which should give rise to patchy frost and areas of low-lying fog, which is an opportunity for amateur photographers to get some really interesting morning shots," Mr Dixon said.
